Hairstyle inspiration is easy to find. Knowing what will suit you, and what to ask for, is harder. HairstyleCamp helps bridge that gap.

HairstyleCamp exists for the moment between wanting a change and making one: the late-night scroll for ideas, the “will this suit me” spiral, the question you wish you could ask a colorist before you commit. Every guide we publish is built for that moment.

What began as a small library of hairstyle inspiration has grown, guide by guide, into an independently owned digital hair publication, publishing since 2015.

We’re still independent, still reader-first, and still convinced the best hair decision is an informed one.

Meet Our Co-Founder

Rayhana Jannat co-founded HairstyleCamp in 2015 and worked behind the scenes during its early years. She holds a BBA and began in content editing before later taking charge of the publication as Editor-in-Chief.

Today she sets the editorial direction and publishing standards, decides what HairstyleCamp will and will not publish, and personally oversees the corrections process, working with the editors, writers, and licensed reviewers behind these pages. Hair and beauty are a genuine personal interest; technical and safety-sensitive guidance she leaves to the site’s licensed professionals.

HairstyleCamp Expert Panel

Some hair content is inspiration. Some can affect the condition of your hair, scalp, or skin. HairstyleCamp brings qualified professionals into guides when factual, technical, chemical, or health-adjacent guidance calls for a knowledgeable second set of eyes: hair color and chemical services, cutting and styling, hair care and products, hair growth, hair loss, and scalp health.

These are the five members of our Expert Panel: a double board-certified dermatologist, a certified trichologist, and three senior salon professionals. What We Cover

The questions your hair actually raises. In practice:

  • Cuts and styles across lengths, textures, face shapes, and stages of life, from first bobs to silver crops
  • Color, from box-dye honesty to salon-level technique: what shades do, what they cost to keep, and what they take to leave
  • Styling and care that works on real mornings, not just in photoshoots
  • The common questions, answered plainly, with a clear line drawn where general information ends and a professional’s care begins
  • HairstyleCamp Originals: video tutorials hosted by named creators, each paired with a written guide

We hold every piece to the same bar: it should help you understand the choice in front of you, including the upkeep, the tradeoffs, and the moments to hand things over to a professional.

Our Editorial Boundaries

HairstyleCamp is a lifestyle publication, not a medical service. Our content is not a diagnosis or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Follow product directions and complete any recommended patch or strand test before using a chemical product.

Style roundups are inspiration and do not usually carry review credits. Articles involving hair science, chemical services, scalp concerns, or product safety may be assigned to a qualified reviewer when their claims or level of risk warrant it. How We Show Our Work

Trust pages are easy to write. So here is how to read ours instead.

Every article shows a byline and its publication date. When an article receives a substantive editorial revision, it may also show an updated date. Depending on the subject and the work performed, you may also see:

  • A named Reviewed by credit when specialist review occurred
  • An Also reviewed by credit when a second specialist participated
  • An attributed From The Expert contribution
  • Links to supporting sources where factual or health-adjacent claims require them
  • Relevant chemical-care or safety disclaimers

And review has teeth here: a senior stylist’s review once led us to replace an outdated highlight-cap tutorial with a current guide explaining where the method still fits and why many colorists now use other techniques. The credit means the review happened; where there is no credit, we don’t pretend otherwise.

Spotted Something Off?

Hair science moves. Products get reformulated and recalled. Salons abandon techniques. If an article here is inaccurate, unclear, out of date, or unsafe, we want to know: use our contact page, include the article URL and the passage in question, and an editor will take it from there, pulling in a qualified reviewer when the subject requires one.
