When you see “Reviewed by” under an article title on HairstyleCamp, it means a qualified professional read that article and checked its guidance before it reached you. This page explains who those reviewers are, what they check, and what that credit does and does not mean.
Who reviews our articles
Our review panel is made up of licensed and certified professionals: cosmetologists, senior stylists, a certified trichologist, and medical professionals. Each reviewer only reviews topics inside their own field. A trichologist like Celestine Muthoni Gitau, certified by the International Association of Trichologists, reviews hair and scalp science. Chemical services such as bleaching and coloring are reviewed by licensed cosmetologists who perform those services professionally.
Every reviewer credit links to that expert’s profile, where you can see their credentials and the full list of articles they have reviewed.
What reviewers check
- Factual claims match current evidence, and studies we cite say what we claim they say.
- Chemical guidance stays within safe, label-first limits, and anything that belongs in a salon is flagged as a professional service, not a home project.
- Health-adjacent topics stay in their lane: we describe and explain, and we point readers to a dermatologist or physician where a real condition is involved.
- Advice reflects how the work is actually done on real hair, including textured and chemically treated hair.
What the credit means
A “Reviewed by” credit means the named expert read the article and its guidance reflects their professional judgment. It does not mean the article is medical advice. For any concern about your scalp, skin, or health, see a licensed professional in person.
Style galleries and trend roundups are editorial content and do not usually carry a reviewer credit. We reserve expert review for articles that make claims an expert can verify: hair science, chemical processes, and product guidance.
