Laura completed her cosmetology program at the Polaris Career Center while attending high school, and actually received her cosmetology license before her high school diploma. After five years behind the chair in Ohio and Arizona salons, she went out on her own and opened a studio salon.

That salon became LKC Studios, her solo studio inside Sola Salons on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, which she owned and operated for ten years. Hair color has always been her deepest passion. She specializes in blonding and lived-in color that produces a natural grow-out and stays low maintenance between appointments.

In 2018, Laura created the haircare blog Have A Good Hair Day so she could share her knowledge with readers across the world. After a decade running her studio, she stepped away from the chair and now teaches haircare full time through her blog and YouTube channel. Her mission is to teach everyone she can how to make every day a good hair day.
